Philippinite is a type of tektite — natural glass formed by the extreme heat and pressure of a meteorite impact around 790,000 to 800,000 years ago. Found only in the Philippines, it’s part of the Australasian strewn field, and less commonly seen than Indochinite due to its limited location.
 
What makes Philippinite stand out is its rugged, deeply textured surface — a result of molten material cooling mid-air after being ejected during the impact. Unlike the smoother splash forms of many Indochinites, Philippinites often form into spheres, discs, and classic button-like shapes, each carrying a raw, ancient energy that’s both powerful and visually striking.
