Moldavite 10.36g
Locality: Marouškovo Pole, Czech Republic.
Size: 27 x 20 x 20 mm.
Condition: Intact, undamaged.
This piece has a natural primary form, close to a disk or ellipsoid shape, which is one of the more technically recognised splash form shapes found in Moldavite.
Moldavite is a rare natural glass formed about 15 million years ago when a meteorite struck the Nördlinger Ries in Germany. The heat from the impact melted the surface rock and sent it into the sky where it cooled as it fell back to earth as green tektite.
