Muong Nong Moldavite is a rare form known for its layered structure, deep surface etching, and high density. Unlike common splash-form Moldavite, it is structurally distinct and makes up only a small percentage of all Moldavite discovered.
Moldavite is a rare natural glass formed about 15 million years ago when a meteorite struck the Nördlinger Ries in Germany. The heat from the impact melted the surface rock and sent it into the sky where it cooled as it fell back to earth as green tektite.
